ABOUT US
Glamorous Girls & Tailored Men was founded to inspire self-confidence and celebrate individual beauty by providing free prom dresses, suits, and accessories to high school students who may not otherwise be able to afford them.
We reach teens at a pivotal moment in their lives, offering them an unforgettable experience as we celebrate their transition into adulthood.
This effort is made possible through the dedication of our incredible volunteers, generous donors, and the unwavering support of our community.
The Princess & Prince Project
The Princess & Prince Project is a program dedicated to helping high school teens create lasting memories by providing them with the resources and support they need to have a successful prom experience. Built on core values of empowerment, inclusivity, and community, the program partners with generous donors and vendors to ensure the every teen has access to the dresses, suits, and accessories they need regardless of their financial situation. By equipping young people with the tools to feel confident and celebrated, the Princess and Prince Project helps foster a sense of pride and belonging, making their prom night a memorable milestone in their journey toward adulthood.
Empowerment is at the heart of the Princess & Prince Project. By equipping teens with the tools and encouragement they need, the program helps them feel confident and valued as they approach their prom experience. The focus on empowerment encourages young people to take pride in who they are and to embrace the excitement of the occasion with self-assurance, helping them to carry that confidence into their future endeavors.
The program also emphasizes inclusivity and community, two core values that drive its success. It strives to create an environment where all teens, regardless of background or circumstance, feel welcome and supported. By bringing together diverse groups of students, the Princess & Prince Project fosters connections, builds lasting relationships, and celebrates the unique individuality of each participant. This inclusive spirit ensures that no teen has to navigate prom alone, and that the experience becomes one of shared joy and collective achievement.
How to donate
To donate gently worn dresses and suits to the Princess & Prince Project, please ensure the items are clean, neatly packaged, and ready for shipping. Dresses and suits should be placed in protective garment bags or sturdy plastic bags to prevent any damage during transit. Please ensure that each item is free from stains or damage to maintain its quality for the students who will receive it. Makeup donations should be sealed, unused, and in their original packaging to ensure safety and hygiene. We collect these donations throughout the winter to prepare for the upcoming school year’s dances, and your thoughtful contribution helps us support high school students in need of prom attire. Properly packaging and shipping your donations allows us to efficiently organize and distribute them when the time comes, making sure each student has the opportunity to shine on their special night.
Social Responsibility
The Princess & Prince Project plays a crucial role in promoting sustainability by accepting gently worn dresses and suits, which helps reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Each year, the fashion industry contributes an estimated 1.2 billion tons of carbon emissions, making it one of the largest polluting sectors globally. By reusing formal wear that might otherwise be discarded after a single use, the program actively combats the overconsumption of clothing. This not only lowers the demand for new garment production, which often involves environmentally harmful practices, but also helps divert waste from landfills, contributing to a more sustainable future.
Sustainability is a core value of the Princess & Prince Project, and by reusing and recycling prom attire, the program makes a tangible difference in reducing the environmental footprint of high school events. The donation and redistribution of gently worn dresses and suits support both environmental conservation and community engagement. Participants in the program are encouraged to be mindful of their environmental impact, fostering a sense of responsibility and stewardship. By incorporating sustainability into the prom experience, the Princess & Prince Project takes a proactive step in preserving the environment for future generations, demonstrating that small actions can contribute to meaningful change.
